Seven Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were martyred and two others were injured in a terrorist attack in Central Kurram, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Pastuni area of Chanar Khel Police Station, Central Kurram. While a patrol of FC 154 Wing was near a nearby seasonal river, they came under fire from all sides by armed terrorists. Seven FC personnel were martyred and two were wounded.
The dead bodies and injured were transported to the CMH Thal. The names of those killed include Naik Jalal, Arif, Wahdat, Imran, Mustafa, Javed, and Sepoy Owais.
Terrorist incidents of this nature have been increasing in Central Kurram over the past several months. The area is located near the districts of Khyber and Orakzai.
It should be noted that district Kurram, the erstwhile Kurram agency, has been under sectarian violence form the last many months and the rival religious sects are using heavy arms against each other including rockets.
