KARACHI: A 5-storey residential building collapsed in the Moosa Colony area, as a result of which the adjoining 2-storey building was also damaged.
According to the details, due to the collapse of a 5-storey building in Moosa Colony, cracks appeared in another 2-storey building adjacent to the building. The 2-storey building is also being demolished.
As the 5-storey building collapsed, the PMT also fell to the ground. Police say that the collapsed 5-storey building was declared dangerous and evacuated. There was no loss of life in the incident.
On receiving the information about the collapse of the building in Musa Colony, the police reached the scene and cordoned off the accident site, and banned the movement of people other than the residents of the area.
The road from Karimabad to Ziauddin Hospital has been closed for traffic. Police said that traffic is being diverted to an alternate route. Due to the rain, the collapsed building became crooked and the process of evacuation started late at night. SHO Gulberg says that the building was completely empty by 7 am on Monday morning.

There were 6 inhabited flats in the high-rise 5-storey residential building, the nearby 2-storey building was also vacated. Debris removal work is expected to start soon after the 2-storey building collapsed.
People said that the collapsed building was constructed a year ago while the builders sold one house for Rs35 lakhs, but due to poor construction material, the building collapsed during the recent rains.
