ISLAMABAD: An Anti-polio campaign has commenced in 128 districts of Pakistan from today in which more than 30 million children will be vaccinated against polio.
The National Coordinator for the Polio Program said that children under the age of five would be vaccinated against polio. Around 210,000 frontline workers are participating in the campaign.
There will be an anti-polio campaign in 33 districts of Punjab, 33 districts of Balochistan, 41 districts of Sindh, 8 districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, 10 districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and one district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Officials say that the workers will campaign in accordance with the coronavirus rules. In a 7-day polio campaign, 210,000 front line workers will go door to door to participate in the anti-polio campaign. There will be five days of polio vaccination and two days catch up days. Children left in catch-up days will be vaccinated against polio.

During the campaign in Balochistan, a target has been set to immunize about 2.5 million children against polio. More than 10,000 teams will take part in the anti-polio drive.
A polio campaign has also been launched in the Gujarat district of Punjab. The campaign aims to vaccinate 441,000 children against polio. At least 988 teams are working on the anti-polio campaign.
