MULTAN: Pakistan’s debutant Abrar Ahmed starred with seven wickets on debut while Zahid Mahmood took three as England bowled out for 281 on the first day of second test here on Friday.
The 24-year-old — nicknamed “Harry Potter” by friends because he wears glasses similar to those of the fictional boy wizard — dismissed Zak Crawley (19), Ben Duckett (63) and Joe Root (eight) in the first two hours, before sending Ollie Pope (60) and Harry Brook (nine) on their way.
The last wicket of Anderson was claimed by Zahid Mahmood 7 (7). Zahid Mahmood denied Ahmed’s quest to be just the fourth bowler to take all 10 wickets in an innings and the first on debut in a Test match, taking the final three to finish with figures of 3-63. Ahmed finished with figures of 7-114 from his 22 overs.
