Pakistan carried out precision strikes on terrorist hideouts along the Afghanistan border, killing 26 militants linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Wednesday.
In a statement, Tarar said the operation was conducted on the basis of credible intelligence following a series of recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan.

He said four key targets were destroyed, including a training facility, a hideout, an ammunition depot and operational centres associated with militant commanders Aleem Khan Khushali and Akhtar Muhammad Jani Khel.
The minister said the strikes targeted elements belonging to what the government refers to as Fitna-al-Khawarij and described them as foreign-sponsored militants.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace while stressing that national security remains the government’s foremost priority.
Tarar said counterterrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy would continue to eliminate terrorism from the country.
The operation followed several recent attacks, including Tuesday’s assault on a Federal Constabulary post in Peshawar’s Musa Dara area, where six personnel were martyred and four injured. Security forces repelled the attack and killed eight militants.
