2 guards killed, one injured in attack on PTI MPA’s son
Two security guards were killed and another injured as the convoy of Sardar Khan Rind — son of PTI’s Balochistan MPA Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind – was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED), officials said on Saturday.
“The convoy was targeted in Sunny Shoran area of Bolan district,” Fahad Shah Rashdi, Dhadar Assistant Commissioner, was quoted as saying in Dawn.com.
“Two bodyguards were killed and one was injured in the IED blast while Sardar Khan Rind was unharmed in the blast,” he said, adding that the dead and the injured were moved to District Headquarters Hospital Dhadar for treatment.
Dhadar Station House Officer Shaukat also told Dawn.com much the same.
“My oldest son Sardar Khan Rind’s convoy was the target of an explosion. Despite others in the convoy being killed or hurt, he is unharmed,” the MPA said.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the incident and expressed regret over the loss of life and those injured.
He gave the order to use all available means to apprehend the offenders. “The terrorist groups want to instill a state of panic and dread. In any case, the state of law and order in the province will be maintained,” he declared.
Moreover, Bizenjo sent prayers and condolences to the victims’ families.
Earlier, at least nine personnel of the Balochistan Constabulary embraced martyrdom and 13 others were injured on Monday after a suicide bomber riding an explosives-laden motorbike struck a police truck on the Sukkur-Quetta Highway in Bolan district.
