KARACHI: At least 150 more cases of the dengue fever virus have been filed on Saturday in Sindh’s capital in the past 24 hours.
The total number of people affected by dengue in the Karachi has now reached 4,563 since 1st January 2019. The death toll has been raised to 11 so far.
As many as 167 new dengue fever cases were detected across the Sindh province in a day, out of them 150 emerged from Karachi and 17 from other districts. In the 10 days of October, 1517 people were infected.

The health department had elaborated that the surveillance teams had checked more than 274,320 places in rural parts and overall 76,580 urban places to detect dengue larvae.
Dengue is rapidly spreading throughout Pakistan. According to the spokesperson of the anti-dengue program, the highest number of victims has been reported from Karachi.
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease in recent years. The virus is transmitted by female mosquitoes mainly. It also transmits chikungunya, yellow fever, and Zika infection.
The dengue virus has no specific treatment or cure. The one affected with the virus rest, drink plenty of fluids and consult a doctor.
