Islamabad: In the hot month of July, electricity short-fall in the country has reached 7,783 megawatt as different areas of the country facing up to 14 hours power-cuts per day.
Some of the worse-affected people are in remote areas and areas with high line-losses where they face up to 18 hours load-shedding a day.
As per detail, the total production of electricity stands at 21,213 megawatts while the total demand is 29MW.
At the moment, 5,430 megawatts are being generated from hydropower, while government thermal plants are producing 1,705MW. Moreover, the total production of private sector power plants is around 10,241 megawatts.
1,629 megawatts from wind power plants, 113 megawatts from solar, 120MW from Biogas plants, and 2,275 megawatts are being produced from nuclear power.
