QUETTA: One person died and seven others were injured after a blast occurred in a market in Turbat on Tuesday morning.
Police confirmed at least seven were injured when the blast took place in the market. Two are said to be in critical condition among the injured. Rescue officials shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The blast took place near a car after which the vehicle engulfed in flame, while a motorcycle also caught on fire. Windows of nearby buildings shattered due to the intensity of the blast.
According to the Police, an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in a motorcycle parked outside a shop in the market. Law enforcement agencies reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
Balochistan chief minister, Jam Kamal Khan, condemned the attack and expressed grief at the loss of life. He said the anti-state elements will not succeed in their nefarious plans.
The chief minister directed authorities concerned with the matters to leave no stone unturned in providing the best healthcare facilities to the injured.
Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Lango has also summoned report of the blast from concerned authorities.
