Former Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram recently shared an interesting conversation he had with Virat Kohli, regarding his immense popularity.
Akram made the revelation ahead of the India-Pakistan Super Four match in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As the two teams were about the fields, Akram revealed that he saw Indian cricketer Virat Kohli in a dream and he gave Indian cricketer a compliment when he met him before the game.
Akram revealed that he told Kohli that he appeared in his dreams. Akram further explained to Kohli that since he sees his face everywhere, he can’t get him out of his mind.
“Today I walked past him and told Virat Kohli that you come in my dreams now. He replied saying: ‘What do you mean Wasim bhai?’ I told him because I see so much of you all on the television screen. I just can’t get him out of my mind,” Akram said on a sports channel,
Akram then talked about the importance of players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Kohli as they can with matches on their own.
“Virat, Babar, Shaheen and all these match winners, they play this game for these moments — India vs Pakistan. I mean, for Pakistan everybody wants to perform and vice-versa. This is just make or break. Not for guys like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam but for young guys. These games are fun. Yesterday, the whole Colombo was buzzing,” Akram added.
It must be noted that the match was called off due to continuous rain spells and now will continue on Monday since a reserve day had been set aside for the high-voltage clash.
