ISLAMABAD: A woman has allegedly been raped by a man at gunpoint in Islamabad’s Margalla Hills as the country witnesses a rise in sexual violence against women and minors.
As per the police complaint, the victim was lured to a job opportunity by a man identified as Noman.
The FIR was registered on the complaint of the rape survivor under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code at Islamabad’s Kohsar police station in the early hours of the morning.
According to the FIR, the complainant, a resident of Muridke, had been looking for a job and received a message on WhatsApp from a person around two months ago.
Once she arrived in Islamabad, she was told that a meeting would be arranged at her new office so she could get acquainted. She alleged that Noman picked her up on a motorcycle from Tench bus stop in Rawalpindi and took her hiking trail-3 in the Margalla Hills where he raped her on gunpoint.
He also threatened to shoot the woman if she screamed. He then dropped her back at the same bus stop in Rawalpindi.
