ISLAMABAD: Heavy rain with wind-thundershowers is expected in different parts of the country today.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), thundershowers are expected in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Central Punjab, East Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan today.
Dust storms and thundershowers are also expected in southern Punjab and Upper Sindh districts. Rains are expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujarat, Gujranwala and Hafizabad districts of Punjab.
Last night, heavy rain brought the mercury down and provided much-needed relief to the citizens from persistent hot weather in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Shakargarh, Khanewal, and Dadu were also hit by heavy rains. Due to rain, many areas were left without electricity in different cities. As per PMD, heavy rains forecast in the upper parts of the country till tomorrow.

The rain was also recorded in different parts of the country yesterday. The highest rainfall of 92 mm was recorded in the Hafizabad area of Punjab, 49 mm in Narowal, 24 mm in Murree, 19 mm in Sialkot, 09 mm in Islamabad, 9 mm in Mandi Bahauddin and 7 mm in Jhelum. 6 mm in Chakwal and Gujranwala and 4 mm in Lahore.
Around 30 mm in Balakot district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 4 mm in Para Chinar, 3 mm in Kakul, 19 mm in Kotli district of Kashmir 19 mm, 9 mm in Rawlakot and Garhi Dupatta, 4 mm in Muzaffarabad.
