ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan today (Tuesday) has asserted that he will not tolerate any kind of blackmail in bringing back former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan.

He expressed his views while chairing a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad. On the occasion, the Prime Minister reiterated that it was the government’s responsibility to bring back PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan.

“Nawaz Sharif should be brought back to the country immediately. All legal options must be considered in this regard,” PM directed the concerned authorities.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nawaz Sharif is in London for medical treatment since November 2019. The government had earlier given approval to the former premier to travel abroad.

Meanwhile, a briefing to the premier was also given on the ML-1 railway project, and the wheat and sugar crisis in the country.

Religious Minister Noor-ul-Haq Qadri urged the cabinet to consider including a Peshawar-Torkham in the ML-1 railway project, which was also supported by Railways Minister.

It was decided that the railway minister will submit a detailed report to the premier on the inclusion of the proposed section.

Matters pertaining to the appointment of renowned economists in fiscal policy boards, FC’s services in Balochistan under Anti-Terrorism Act were also discussed in the meeting, said sources.
