QUETTA: JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman on Sunday night has vowed to hold the establishment in esteem if it stops backing the incumbent fake government and apologises.
PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was the last major Opposition leader to speak, before the third power show in Quetta, under the banner of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), was wrapped up.
“Even today, if our establishment apologises before the nation that we did wrong during the elections and ruined Pakistan’s mandate, we are ready to hold it in esteem,” he remarked.
The JUI-F chief also condemned the arrest of PML-N leader Capt Safdar and the ‘detention’ of MNA Mohsin Dawar, saying that the latter incident was contrary to Balochistan’s traditions.
He reiterated that he was not against institutions but “when they impose martial law or when they back a fake government, it is our right to complain and protest”.
“JUI-F had played its part in protecting the 18th Amendment and had succeeded in creating a consensus,” he said, adding that his party would not allow anyone to curb the rights of any province.
Talking about Justice Isa case, Fazlur Rehman said that the government should resign as it has lost its moral authority. “In the contemporary world, a country’s survival depended on its economy, not defence — though that was integral as well,” he added.
Fazlur Rehman accused the incumbent government of annoying China as well as Iran and Afghanistan because it had no idea about foreign policy. He also termed the government as a seller of Kashmir.
