GILGIT BALTISTAN: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that his party would take every possible step to ensure the constitutional rights of Gilgit-Baltistan’s (GB) people.
While addressing a gathering in Ganchhe district of GB on Friday, said, “The people of GB will get freedom from the incumbent government just like you got it from Dogra rule. PPP is the only party which can give you rights as it gave to people and protected democracy,” he added.
On Wednesday, Bilawal reached Skardu city to lead the party’s 22 days long election campaign in all 10 districts of GB.
Accompanied by PPP leaders Qamar Zaman Kaira, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, Jamil Soomro and Nasir Shah, he was received by PPP Gilgit-Baltistan president Amjad Hussain, former chief minister Syed Mehdi Shah and leader Mohammad Ali Akhtar at the Skardu airport.
Today, in Ganchhe district the PPP leader said, “We are fighting against the selected government and hybrid system through the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) platform”.
He urged people living abroad to visit GB first and then Sindh. He claimed after winning GB elections they will open universities and campuses across the region. The PPP chairman said the party’s mission was to empower the poor people, labours and farmers in the region.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that we need to save GB from the devastation caused by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said every promise of Imran Khan turned out to be false, adding that we cannot give chance to the PTI-led government, adding that we have to save GB from the prime minister.
The PPP chairman said that the prime minister had promised to build 5 million houses and not a single person was given jobs. He said, “Employees of every institution and people are protesting, adding that even the Lady Health Workers, are staging protest”.
During his stay in Gilgit-Baltistan until Nov 12, Bilawal will campaign for the party’s candidates in all 10 districts by addressing rallies, corner meetings and news conferences.
