ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Ali Amin Gandapur has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government will ensure free, fair and impartial elections without any interference Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on November 15.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, the minister said that despite the COVID-19 epidemic and economic crisis, the government increased GB’s budget for its development.
“PTI government believes in democracy and is committed to holding free and fair elections in the region, he added. The minister said, “PM Imran wants to bring the enlightened, moderate and progressive face of the GB before the world.”
Ali Amin Gandapur said that protecting the rights of people from Gilgit-Baltistan is the top agenda of his government and he will continuously work for it.
Regarding the Kashmir issue, he alleged that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman minted money in the name of Kashmiri people. Gandapur said, “Fazlur Rehman issued a wrong statement that a deal is being made on Kashmir.”
He pointed out the opposition leaders did not attend the GB reforms meeting that reflects their lack of interest in the region.
Gandapur said, “People of the region are defense shield of Pakistan and their sacrifices for the country are written in the history with golden words.”
