Filmmaker Karan Johar revealed why he never invited Virat Kohli on his show Koffee with Karan.
Johar explained he no longer invites cricketers on his show due to the major controversy surrounding Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul’s 2019 appearance on the show.
In a recent conversation with tennis star Sania Mirza, he explained his reasoning after she brought up Virat Kohli’s name.

Johar recalled the intense backlash and revealed the incident left him feeling “scared.” He felt responsible for the negative consequences the cricketers faced because they were guests on his platform.
The cricketers were heavily criticized for comments about their dating and personal lives that were perceived as sexist and misogynistic.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) temporarily suspended them from the national team and sent them home from a tour in Australia.
Following the outrage, the episode was taken down from the streaming platform Hotstar.
Rahul later reflected on the incident, stating that the interview “scarred me massively” and fundamentally changed his perspective on fame and public perception.
After experiencing the fallout, Johar has avoided inviting cricketers to prevent a similar situation from happening again
