U.S. President Trump left the G7 summit early in Canada to focus on the escalating crisis in the Middle East, particularly the growing conflict between Israel and Iranen.
The White House, through Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, confirmed that Trump departed after dinner with fellow leaders because of urgent developments in the region
In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized his decision had “much bigger” stakes than a mere ceasefire, hinting at broader strategic or diplomatic moves.
While French President Macron suggested Trump had offered a ceasefire plan, Trump later denied this, asserting the situation was far beyond that. He said he was working toward “an end. A real end, not cease-fire”.
Trump also called for the evacuation of Tehran and telegraphed that he was preparing for possible U.S. involvement, ordering his National Security Council and Situation Room to mobilize upon his return.
