Junaid Safdar, son of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, has divorced his wife, Ayesha Saifur Rehman, three years after tying the knot in London, UK.

Taking to Instagram, Junaid confirmed the news of parting ways with his ex-wife. Confirming the rumors to be true, Junaid penned in an Instagram story, “News about my divorce is true.” Adding on, he shared, “This is an entirely private matter and I request the media to respect our privacy.”

Junaid tied the knot with Ayesha at a lavish reception at The Lanesborough, a swanky hotel in Knightsbridge on August 22, 2021. His parents, Maryam and Captain Safdar did not attend the wedding as they were not allowed to leave the country.

Junaid removed all his pictures with his former wife on Instagram after the announcement.

Ayesha is the daughter of Saifur Rahman Khan, a close confidante of Nawaz Sharif, who was made chairman of the then Ehtesab Bureau during Nawaz’s second tenure as prime minister in 1997.
