Following the court-martial proceedings against former DG ISI Lieutenant General (Retd.) Faiz Hameed and the arrest of three additional military officers, the connections between Faiz Hameed and PTI founder Imran Khan have been severed.
A few days ago, the Pakistan Army initiated court-martial proceedings against the former DG ISI Lieutenant General (Retd.) Faiz Hameed. After his detention in connection with a private housing society scandal, the scope of the investigation has expanded.
ISPR has confirmed that three more retired officers have been taken into custody. The three retired military officers were detained due to actions against military discipline.
ISPR also stated that further investigations are ongoing against some retired officers and their associates. Investigations are also underway into the involvement in fueling instability in the country for specific political interests and collusion.
Sources indicate that despite his retirement, Faiz Hameed was actively assisting PTI founder Imran Khan, and the three detained officers have now severed the connection between Faiz Hameed and Imran Khan. Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has stated that the scope of the investigation has been widened.
The Information Minister mentioned that further actions will be taken against other facilitators of Faiz Hameed and Imran Khan, and more significant arrests are expected soon.
