Just a few days ago on Sindhi Cultural Day, a lawyer named Saba Aslam happily addressed a ceremony and said she was proud to be called Sindhi. Who knew she would no longer be among us till the end of the month.
Once again Pakistan failed to protect its women as another bright and brilliant social activist and lawyer Saba Aslam is no more with us. She was brutally stabbed to death on 14th December in Karachi.
Since then, social media users have strongly been condemning the brutal murder of the social activist who died on her way to the hospital.
Who is Saba Aslam?
A resident of New Karachi, Saba Aslam was a female social worker who was stabbed to death. She was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital by an ambulance of the social service organization Chhipa Welfare, where he was declared dead by the doctors. A worker of Chhipa Welfare said that when the ambulance reached the spot at 12.30 in the afternoon of Tuesday, it was found that Saba Aslam was lying on the ground.

A 24-year-old Saba Aslam founded an organization called ‘Anissa Aslam Welfare’ five years ago. The organization mostly works for child labour and widows. Many medical camps were organized by Aslam’s organization.
Witnesses
The neighbours said that as soon as Saba Aslam came out of the house, two masked men on a motorcycle hit her on the back with sharp weapons, which led to her death.
FIR
Untill now, an FIR has not been registered by the deceased’s family yet. However, the state government itself has registered an FIR.
Who killed Saba?
According to the police, the deceased was attacked with a knife by her neighbour Ghazanfar, was is apparently involved in the attack. According to SHO Sir Syed Ahmad Nawaz Brohi, the house of the accused is on the third floor next to the house of Aslam.
Why was she killed?
Many speculate that Aslam had been involved in highlighting several issues like the drainage problems in her area. She used to address such problems on web TV and this might the reason of her facing such mishap.
