Goldy Brar, the accused in the murder of famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, has been shot dead in America.
According to News18 and several other Indian news channels, the shooting happened around 5:25 pm local time on Tuesday at Fairmont and Holt Avenues. Goldy Brar and a companion were attacked and shot by unknown assailants outside their home in the US and sped away. Both the injured were taken to the hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries.
Brar was a notorious gangster with a long list of crimes. Goldy Brar’s allies and enemies, Arsh Dalla and Lakbhir, claimed responsibility for the attack, citing long-standing enmity. Notably, Goldy Brar had publicly admitted on social media to planning the murder of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
Goldy Brar left India on a Canadian student visa in 2017. He was a key conspirator in the killing of a Dera Sacha Sauda follower last month along with Sikh fundamentalist groups. Moosewala was a famous singer, rapper, and songwriter from Punjab. His original name was Shobhadeep Singh Sidhu. He was known for his powerful and often controversial lyrics.
On 29 May 2022, Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in a targeted attack in Mansa, Jawaharke village in Punjab, he was just 28 years old at the time of the murder. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang initially claimed responsibility for Moosewala’s murder, but Goldy Brar eventually pleaded guilty during a televised appearance, claiming that Moosewala’s alleged involvement in the murder of Lawrence’s partner, Vicky Madukhera, was involved. Due to his complicity, he was forced to commit murder.
