Fátima Bosch Fernández, a 25-year-old fashion designer and model from Mexico, was crowned Miss Universe 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, marking a historic moment as she becomes the fourth Mexican woman to win the prestigious international title.

Early Life

Born on May 19, 2000, in Teapa, Tabasco, Fátima grew up in southern Mexico before moving to Mexico City for her studies.

She has openly spoken about being diagnosed in childhood with dyslexia, ADHD and hyperactivity, challenges that shaped her resilience and motivated her advocacy work.

She has said that bullying during her school years strengthened her resolve to promote self-confidence, mental health awareness and acceptance of neurodiversity.

Education

Bosch holds a degree in Fashion and Apparel Design from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. She further enhanced her training at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan, Italy.
Earlier, she also studied at Lyndon Institute in Vermont, USA. Her international exposure contributed significantly to her fashion sensibilities and global outlook.

Pageant journey

Fátima’s pageant career began in 2018 when she won the regional title Flor Tabasco, which brought her into the national spotlight.

On September 13, 2025, she was crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2025, becoming the first-ever contestant from Tabasco to win the national crown.

She went on to represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2025, where her confidence, communication skills and advocacy made her one of the standout participants throughout the competition.

Controversy before the pageant

Bosch attracted global attention ahead of the Miss Universe finale after an on-stage altercation with a senior pageant organiser, who criticised her over promotional obligations.

She walked out in protest, a moment that drew widespread support from fellow contestants and viewers, with many praising her for defending her dignity and principles.

Her calm yet assertive response became a defining moment of her candidacy.
