For the past 45 years, the voice of Ali Ahmad Mulla has been resonating throughout the Islamic world. Born in Suq Al-Lail Colony of Makkah in 1945, Sheikh Al-Mu’aznain came from a family known for its special attachment and connection to the call to prayer. Ali Ahmad Mulla’s fathers used to organize the call to prayer in Masjid Haram, and a large number of them performed the duties of muezzins in Masjid Haram.
He started serving as a muezzin in 1975, and after the death of his cousin Shaykh Abd al-Malik al-Mulla, he was appointed as the head of the Council of Muezzins. Al-Sheikh Ali Ahmad Mulla has been mesmerizing the world of Islam with his melodious voice for 45 years. His Azan, recorded in his unique wavy voice, is listened to with great interest and love in the Islamic world, and many muezzins try to adopt his tone and style.
Sheikh Abd al-Malik Al-Mulla was also one of the famous muezzins and tombstones of Masjid Haram. However, since Ali Ahmad Mulla took over as the head of the Council of Muezzins, his voice has become an inseparable part of the Haram Sharif’s ambiance.
His Azan can be heard five times a day, and his voice has become a symbol of devotion and reverence to Muslims around the world.
