Nargis, previously regarded as the queen of Punjabi stage drama, has recently made a startling disclosure regarding a former military leader of Pakistan.
In a recent podcast interview, Nargis revealed to the host that Pervez Musharraf, the last military ruler of Pakistan, had proposed a payment of Rs2.5 million for a performance at the Governor’s House, which she declined. She emphasized that she never engaged in private performances, choosing instead to perform solely in theatrical settings.
After dominating the stage and the Punjabi film industry for many years, Nargis has now retired from dancing and stage performances. She is now dedicating her efforts to charitable activities and addressing the challenges faced by impoverished communities.
When questioned about the influence of Maulana Tariq Jamil in her transition from a stage actress to a committed Muslim, Nargis shared that she undertook her first Hajj pilgrimage alongside the religious scholar.
She expressed her desire to leave the stage upon her return from Hajj but mentioned to Maulana Tariq Jamil that she owed drama producers Rs30 million.
In response, he offered to settle that debt from his own funds, provided she would refrain from returning to acting. Nargis recounted that Maulana Tariq Jamil advised her to cease acting only when her inner self prompted her to do so, rather than succumbing to external pressures.
