The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 24-hour gas load-shedding event scheduled for tomorrow in various areas of Karachi. This temporary disruption is due to the connection of a new 31-kilometer gas pipeline to the system, aimed at addressing ongoing gas supply issues in the city.
According to SSGC, gas will be unavailable from 5 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday in the following areas:
- Surjani Town
- All sectors of North Karachi
- Manghopir
- Qasba Colony
- Orangi Town
- All blocks of North Nazimabad
- FB Area
- Gulberg Town
- Bafarzone
- SITE Industrial Area
- Baldia Town
- Maripur
- Gulshan-e-Mamar
- Ahsanabad
- SITE Super Highway and surrounding areas
Officials indicate that this outage is part of the company’s efforts to resolve long-standing low gas pressure issues in Karachi. The connection of the new pipeline is expected to enhance the overall gas supply and alleviate pressure problems. Despite this one-time disruption, SSGC aims to improve the reliability of gas services across the port city.
