The Islamabad administration has announced a change in the venue for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally, scheduled for September 8. (tomorrow)
According to a notification issued by the district magistrate Islamabad, the rally will now be held in an open space at the junction of New Margalla Avenue, Iran Avenue, and GT Road in Sangjani, Islamabad. This new location is approximately 200 meters away from the previously designated site.
The notification, dated September 5, 2024, clarifies that while the location has changed, the previously notified routes and terms & conditions will remain the same.
In preparation for the revised rally location, PTI’s core committee, chaired by Barrister Gohar, met on Friday to finalize their strategy. The party has outlined a comprehensive plan to mobilize supporters from across the nation, directing them to assemble at the new Sangjani site. PTI’s national and provincial assembly members have been tasked with rallying supporters from their constituencies.
The new venue, located adjacent to the Sangjani Cattle Market, was confirmed following the issuance of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the district administration. PTI leaders, including Barrister Gohar, Omer Ayub, and Asad Qaiser, have already visited the site to oversee preparations. However, the Islamabad Police have reportedly intercepted some rally accessories, including the DJ system, raising concerns about potential disruptions.
