Nearly three decades after the original Practical Magic became a cult favorite, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are returning as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens in the highly anticipated sequel, Practical Magic 2.
The upcoming Warner Bros. film will continue the story of the Owens family and its generations-old magical curse. Bullock and Kidman will reprise their iconic roles, while Joey King and Maisie Williams join the cast as the next generation of Owens women.
Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest are also returning as Aunt Frances and Aunt Jet.
Directed by Susanne Bier, the sequel is based on Alice Hoffman’s 2021 novel The Book of Magic. The story follows the Owens family as they once again confront the consequences of their supernatural legacy and attempt to break the curse that has affected generations of women.
Practical Magic 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on September 11, 2026. The film also stars Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod.
With the original stars returning alongside a new generation of characters, the sequel is expected to combine fantasy, romance, family drama and the magical charm that made the first film a fan favorite.
