WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that enables users to share music alongside photos and videos in their status updates.
In recent times, WhatsApp has enhanced the status updates section in many ways. It has redesigned the user interface, added a new “like-reaction” feature, and more.
The new feature includes a music icon in the status, allowing users to search for their favorite songs, artists, or trending tracks. Once a song is selected, users can include a 15-second music clip in a photo-based status or adjust the duration for video-based updates, with the music duration synced to match the video length.
Similar to Instagram, this new feature will make your status updates more engaging for viewers. The selected song will appear alongside the main photo or video in the status update. Viewers can tap on the song, which will direct them to the artist’s Instagram profile.
Currently, this music feature is in the beta phase and available to a limited number of testers. WhatsApp plans to roll it out to all users in an upcoming stable version.
