WhatsApp has launched a new feature to simplify event organization within its platform in order to streamline communication and enhance group interactions.
As reported by GSM Arena, WhatsApp has unveiled a new tool aimed at streamlining event planning directly within group chats, eliminating the necessity for external applications.
With this recent update, users now enjoy the convenience of effortlessly creating events, whether it’s a virtual meeting, a birthday bash, or any other gathering. This feature empowers any member within a group chat to kickstart an event, enabling fellow group members to RSVP and ensuring clarity on attendance.
Events initiated within WhatsApp groups will be prominently showcased in the group’s information section, ensuring easy access to event particulars for all members. Furthermore, attendees will receive timely notifications as the event draws near, keeping everyone in the loop and engaged.
Initially, this functionality is being rolled out to Community-affiliated groups, with plans for a gradual expansion to all groups over the forthcoming months. This phased release enables WhatsApp to collect feedback and guarantee a seamless experience for all users.
In addition to event coordination, WhatsApp is enriching its Community feature by introducing the option for users to respond to announcements from group administrators. These responses will be conveniently grouped and collapsed, allowing users to view them in context without cluttering the conversation. Moreover, notifications for such responses will be muted by default for all, preventing potential disruptions to group communication.
