Eraslan was found by first responders after her relatives called authorities when she didn’t answer the door to her home after they traveled to see her after she wasn’t answering her phone, the Turkish outlets Sözcü and Cumhuriyet reported.

During the investigation, security camera footage from the building was reviewed, showing a person, identified as Sonay Kurtuluş, entering her residence and leaving some time later.
Police questioned the individual but released him after recording his statement. According to his lawyers, he was not present at the scene.
