ISLAMABAD: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reacted to the letter of PTI founder Imran Khan saying that we do not comment on the political affairs of any country.
According to the details, in the letter written to the IMF, Imran Khan said that the IMF should put good governance and other conditions before giving the financial program to Pakistan.
IMF Representative (Pakistan) Esther Perez Ruiz while reacting to Imran Khan’s letter said that the letter written by Imran Khan was received on February 28. “We have limited interference in the economic affairs of the countries concerned. Avoid commenting on political matters,” Esther said.
The IMF Spokesperson added, “Although we do not comment on the internal political affairs of any country, we encourage the resolution of electoral disputes considering the importance of the constitutional environment for the country’s economic stability and growth.”
Napa Tala’s reaction
Interestingly, when Imran Khan indicated to write a letter to the IMF, various politicians of the country gave the impression that in response to the letter, the IMF may stop the loan given to Pakistan. There will be a storm of inflation.
However, some realistic politicians and analysts clarified that the IMF is a global financial institution that does not have a mandate to interfere in the political affairs of any country, nor does it want to be criticized at the global level by commenting on political affairs.
Perhaps this is the reason why the IMF reacted badly to Imran Khan’s letter. The IMF welcomes the peaceful and transparent resolution of electoral disputes in Pakistan, but refrains from interfering in political affairs.
