Waqar Zaka thanks court for seeking response on Cryptocurrency ban

KARACHI: Social media celebrity Waqar Zaka has thanked Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro of the Sindh High Court (SHC) for seeking a response from the State Bank of Pakistan on the Cryptocurrency ban.

Talking to media outside the SHC, Waqar Zaka said that after successfully changing the computer book and lifting the ban on PubG game, now he is fighting the case for legalizing cryptocurrency without lawyers.

Waqar Zaka questioned, “There is no parliamentary law for this technology, what section or delegated powers State bank used to ban crypto”?

On Wednesday, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought details of the ban by the State Bank of Pakistan on the cryptocurrency in Pakistan.

As per details, Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro heard the petition regarding the ban on digital currency filled by Waqar Zaka.

In his remarks, Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro questioned about not using digital currency in the current era. The court also expressed anger at the State Bank of Pakistan for not allowing cryptocurrency.

Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro remarked that the world has come a long way in modern technology and we stand still in old ages. Judge asked why the cryptocurrency is circulating all over the world and only banned in Pakistan.

The SBP lawyer told the court that there is no ban on the corrupt currency in Pakistan, but it has not been regularized. The High Court on November 5 also sought details from the federal government, the State Bank, and the FIA.
