ISLAMABAD: The district police today (Sunday) have claimed to arrest a wanted member of a street criminal gang and recovered valuables and weapons, a police spokesman said.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Amir Zulfiqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) assigned a special task to all Zonal SPs to ensure the arrest of those involved in street crimes.
During a special search operation, Model police station Industrial Area arrested the wanted criminal identified as Sabz Ali. A case has been registered against him and further investigation is underway.
The police team recovered almost six 9mm pistols and 12 magazines from his possession, while valuables including snatched cash, wristwatches, mobile phones, and laptop were also recovered.
IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG Operations have appreciated the performance of the police team and announced commendation certificates along with cash rewards for policemen who arrested the gangster.
