The deputy chief executive of the Business Recorder Group Arshad A. Zuberi passed away on Sunday at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife and three children.
The funeral prayer will be held on Monday at 1:30 pm at Noor-e-Salam Mosque in Zamzama Park, Defense.
Zuberi’s career spanned several decades in journalism and publishing. After earning a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the United States in 1973, he joined the Business Recorder Group in 1974 as the technical director of APEX PRINTRY. Initially overseeing the security printing of bank documents, he later pioneered the production of continuous business form stationery in 1976.
Founded by M.A. Zuberi, Arshad Zuberi’s father, the Business Recorder Group saw significant growth under Arshad’s leadership. In 1981, he took on the role of printer and publisher of the Daily Business Recorder, becoming deputy chief executive by 1985.
The APNS, through a statement by President Nazafreen Saigol Lakhani and Secretary General Sarmad Ali, expressed deep sorrow over his passing. They praised him as a “veteran publisher who served the newspaper industry with enthusiasm and great zeal,” offering condolences to his family and praying for his eternal peace.
