KARACHI: Actress Ushna Shah, who has always been vocal about issues that are clouding society, has become ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ of World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
The actress has joined WWF hoping that the partnership will bring great value to our mission of nature conservation in Pakistan. “Besides being a brilliant actress, Ushna is an ardent environmental activist and a fervent supporter of animal rights, protection of endangered species in Pakistan, and conserving the environment,” the WWF said in a social media post.

The 31-year-old is an animal lover and a strong advocate for the better treatment of animals in Pakistan. According to Hammad Naqi Khan, Director General, WWF-Pakistan, the organization is excited to have Shah on board as a WWF-Pakistan Goodwill Ambassador and is hopeful that she will play her role to mobilize the public to play their part in protecting the planer.
Speaking during the event, Ushna Shah shared that she is deeply passionate about saving the incredible wildlife of Pakistan, which is facing ever-increasing threats. She stressed the need to understand that wildlife is an important part of the ecosystem and our survival is in so many ways tied to biodiversity. Only when we understand that intricate balance of nature, would we value its services to us.
Moreover, sharing the news on Instagram, Shah shared that she is honoured to join hands with WWF as the Goodwill Ambassador and be a part of the panda family. “WWF’s mission is working to sustain the natural world for the benefit of people and nature. I am grateful for this platform and can not wait to get to work with these dedicated and passionate individuals,” she wrote.
