US Secretary Pompeo briefs Kurdistan PM Barzani

US top diplomat Pompeo briefs Kurdistan PM Barzani
WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo briefed Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani after Iranian attacks on US bases in Iraq.
In a telephonic conversation, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called the regional Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and briefed him of the current situations in the Middle East, after the attacks on American bases in Iraq led by Iran coalition forces on Wednesday.

The regional Kurdistan government is funded and supported by the US government and both are considered close allies. The Secretary and Prime Minister Barzani agreed to stay in close touch as the situation develops.

In the latest tweet PM Barzani said, “In my telephone call this morning with Secretary Pompeo, we discussed the current developments in Iraq. I also suggested ways to de-escalate and contain the situation”.
The Kurdistan government also supports America and is considered the most exemplary allies of America in the middle east. The Kurdish revolutionary forces were also funded by America for a long time that disrupted regional peace.
