PARIS: Former French Defense Minister Michelle Eliot-Marie has revealed that the evidence given by the US before the invasion of Iraq was false.
According to the details, the former French defense minister revealed in the political memory program that the US attacked Iraq on the basis of fake evidence. France also rejected the reasons given by the American government during this period, she maintained.
The former defense minister said that France knew that what the US is calling missile depots are wheat warehouses. In 2002, US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld showed the photos to provide fake evidence at a meeting with EU defense ministers.

Michelle Eliot-Marie said that the US Defense Secretary alleged that wheat depots were being used to launch missiles. “I instructed the French military to take as many pictures of Iraq as possible based on satellites and then I showed those pictures,” he said.
“I clarified that they were wheat warehouses, not missile depots,” he said. “We emphasize the importance of autonomy. If we had nothing but American pictures, we would have accepted what America said. We were not supporting America in everything,” he added.
