The university in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to accept students’ demands by holding online examinations.
The University of Peshawar issued a notification in this regard which states all the heads of departments, who have not conducted mid-term fall examination so far, are directed to hold the examination online.
The final-term examination would be held online subject to the concurrence of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Peshawar University students had been protesting to press the university administration to hold examinations online.
The students opined that their studies had been badly affected due to the coronavirus pandemic. As per the students, they were taught online, their exams should be arranged online as well.

The students have been demanding online exams because classes were also held virtually. #StudentsKoInsafDo became the top trending hashtag in Pakistan.
Hundreds of private university students clashed with the security guards during demonstrations against in-person examinations, and as a result, several sustained injuries. Students have demand online exams and maintained they would continue the protest until their demands are met; however, the university administration has not yet commented on the matter.
