ISLAMABAD: The United Nations Sustainable Development Framework for Pakistan (UNSDF) has said that the UN is committed to working with the government of Pakistan with a grassroots level approach, reaching the people of Pakistan and make a lasting contribution to national development priorities.
According to a report by the United Nations Sustainable Development Framework for Pakistan (UNSDF), Pakistan has taken the lead in adopting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 ambitious Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), becoming one of the first countries in the globe to adopt their pledge to transform lives and protect the planet.
It reaffirms its goal to take forward the principle of leaving no one behind and to get better the living standard of all the people across the country, especially the most vulnerable, marginalized and disadvantaged factions of the society, read the report.
Highlighting the emerging level of Pakistan’s economic development, the report termed it inclusive that advantages all people. With the government’s targeted and all-inclusive strategies the report said, all the people would have access to excellent facilities; where natural and cultural reserves were protected.
The economic development of the country, owing to its trajectory, has the potential to make sure social development equitable; where females and males, boys and girls, and transgender individuals could fulfill their potential with dignity and equality of chances, it added.
