UAE forms mechanism to set free more Pakistani prisoners

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of United Arab Emirates Hamad Obaid Alzaabi has said that the UAE government has formulated a mechanism to send back more imprisoned Pakistanis.
The envoy said the United Arab Emirates had decided to free more Pakistani prisoners languishing in jails across the country. He said that the policy has benefited people at a larger level.
This he stated during a meeting with Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah in Islamabad where matters related to bilateral and mutual fields of interest were discussed.
Ambassador Alzaabi also admired the minister for extending support by the Ministry of Interior in bilateral and mutual matters. The minister said that Pakistani authorities are trying best to facilitate in every possible way. He said the policy would help Islamabad make arrangements for the repatriation of prisoners well before they are released.
Earlier, Prime Minister’s Special Adviser on Overseas Pakistanis, Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari, met the Dubai police chief in Dubai and devised a mechanism to share data and date on prisoners with the aim of swift repatriation.
