Two women survive after falling off swing on edge of 6,300-foot cliff

Fortunately, a small wooden platform located just beyond the cliff edge broke their fall and very possibly saved their lives.

In a bizarre incident, two women escaped death after falling off a swing perched on the edge of a 6,300-foot cliff.

The incident reportedly happened in Russia, where the girls were taking a ride on the swing over Sulak Canyon, located in the Russian Republic of Dagestan when one of its chains snapped and sent them hurtling off the cliff edge. Fortunately, a small wooden platform located just beyond the cliff edge broke their fall and very possibly saved their lives.

As per reports, the two women escaped with only minor scratches, though they were left shaken by the incident. The girls were rescued by authorities, according to local media reports. The authorities in Dagestan confirmed that the swing did not meet safety standards, and as a result, the young woman fell off the swing seat.

Police are currently investigating the safety of several valley swings that were built near the village of Zopotli, where the accident occurred, many of which do not meet safety international standards.
