LARKANA: Two children, who went missing yesterday were found dead in the Larkana area of Sindh on Sunday.
According to police sources, the bodies of two minors aged two-years were recovered from a pond. The police initially said that the minors were drowned to death.
However, the heirs of the children alleged that the children were killed and later thrown into a pond. The bodies have been shifted to a nearby medical facility for medico-legal formalities. The police said that the actual cause of death will be known after the postmortem report.
Meanwhile, local residents launched protests demonstrations against the rising number of rape cases in the area and blocked roads. They demanded authorities to take action against the police for their criminal negligence.
Earlier, Child protection NGO Sahil has indicated in its latest report that the number of child sexual abuse cases reported in Pakistan every day gone up in the first half of 2020.
