BANGKOK: An infant in Thailand, the country’s youngest coronavirus patient, has successfully recovered from the illness, while another infant has made a full recovery in Turkey.
According to details, a one-month-old Thai baby boy successfully recovered from the disease. A team of doctors discussed the medication given to the infant during his treatment.
“The strategy used to treat this child was to give him medication for 10 days. We conducted a health check on him every day and three to five days and after that, his X-rays showed signs of gradual recovery” one of the doctors told.
On the other hand, an 18-day old baby girl from Turkey also recovered from COVID-19. According to doctors, “The baby contracted the virus from her parents who also tested positive for coronavirus.”
She was treated for eight days and was sent home after testing negative for coronavirus.
Thailand earlier reported 15 new coronavirus cases and one new death, bringing the total to 2,826 confirmed cases and 49 deaths. Despite the slowing of new cases, officials remained cautious and said that the best way to contain the coronavirus outbreak was for the public to stay home and continue social distancing.
The global death toll from the novel coronavirus climbed over 184,248. More than 2.6 million declared cases have been registered in more than 2oo countries and territories.
