KARACHI: In a very sad incident that took place in Dhani Bakhsh Goth, Gulshan-e-Maymar area of Karachi, two children lost their lives after drowning in a water-filled pit.
According to initial information gathered by MM News from rescue sources, the ages of the two children who died are between 10 and 12 years. The incident occurred due to water accumulating in a deep pit in Dhani Bakhsh Goth.
Rescue teams reached the spot and pulled the bodies of the children out of the water. The bodies are being shifted to a nearby hospital for legal formalities and identification. After this incident, chaos and a wave of grief have spread throughout the area as local residents gathered at the site.
This marks another tragedy of its kind in Gulshan-e-Maymar. It should be remembered that in 2025, two children drowned in a water pit near Abbas Goth, Northern Bypass, in the same area. In that incident, 10-year-old Asma, daughter of Farooq, died while 8-year-old Arshad, son of Amin, was taken out in critical condition.
Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims from today’s incident, pending notification of next of kin.
