When I woke up this morning, the news of the assassination attack on Donald Trump was circulating on the TV channels. There have been incidents of assassination attacks during presidential campaigns in the US before, but none of the 11 assassination attempts from 1912 to 1916 were as serious as the current attack on a presidential candidate is. The current assassination attempt can be described as the most serious; Donald Trump miraculously survived. If he had not turned his head half an inch to the left during the speech, the bullet would have gone through his head.
For the past few hours, the FBI, state police, and other law enforcement agencies have been busy trying to determine the identity and motives of the killer. Reports are coming in that the killer has been identified, but Pennsylvania State Police have declined to release the name of the assailant due to the ongoing investigation. As soon as Trump was attacked, the Secret Service police fired back and killed the assailant.
However, the expert shooter had already fired multiple shots at Donald Trump, who narrowly escaped. If the bullet had been an inch to the right, it could have hit Donald Trump in the head, killing him instantly, which would be no less than a great tragedy for the American people. In the past, four US presidential candidates have also been attacked, out of which three presidential candidates have been killed during the election campaign.
Moreover, after the assassination of three presidential candidates from 1868 to 1972, another presidential candidate, George Wells, was shot and permanently paralyzed in 1972. The manner in which Donald Trump was removed from the rally by the Secret Service is indeed admirable, but the big question here is how a young 20-year-old man with a rifle reached a one-story building just 100 yards away.
The question also arises as to how this person fired shots at former President Donald Trump who was addressing the rally participants. While Secret Service personnel were already present at various heights, the building from which the assassin struck was overlooked. Still, it’s good that a Secret Service sniper on another high-rise shot and killed the assailant. If not, he could have fired several more shots, killing Donald Trump and many others in the crowd.
Analysis shows that when there is an element of polarization in politics, such incidents occur, as in the case of the assassination attack on Donald Trump in the US state of Pennsylvania.
How could a 20-year-old American youth be so poisoned that he would attempt to assassinate a former US president by shooting at him? After the investigation, more comments can be made on it, but, for the first time in American history, the seeds of politics of hatred were sowed 8 to 10 years ago.
Since then, due to the politics of hatred, hatred started filling the hearts and minds of the youth of different political parties, groups, and schools of thought in America, which has resulted in the occurrence of this serious incident today.
The politics of hatred and abusive speech has also been on the rise in Pakistan for the past few years and we wish and pray that Allah will not allow these seeds of hatred to be absorbed in the minds and hearts of the Pakistani youth to such an extent that they will follow what happened in Pennsylvania.
Our politicians should realize that by sowing the seeds of hate politics, the poisoning of the minds of the nation increases so much that it takes years to remove this poison. Our youths try to follow their leaders and politicians and try to repeat and adopt their good and bad words, which creates a shape and form of society because the young generation is the future and asset of our nation. In Pakistan, the politics of hatred that turns into enmity has never happened before, but the trend that has been going on for the last decade is turning into a dark and negative color.
Again, as for Trump, his immediate reaction was to appear like a hero, waving his fists, showing confidence, and chanting fight fight fight, while Secret Service agents guarded him. Former US President Donald Trump was kept under siege, despite this, Donald Trump continued his sloganeering.
Donald Trump’s position was already strong in the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden for this year’s presidential election in the United States, and now after the assassination attack, Donald Trump waved his fists and shouted slogans with national enthusiasm. Of course, this makes Donald Trump’s position even stronger in the presidential campaign.
And now it seems that it is becoming not only difficult but impossible to stop Donald Trump from once again becoming the president of the United States. I think that in the next couple of days, according to the polls, Trump’s rating can increase many folds more than before.
If we talk about Pakistan, it can be mentioned here with regret that no statement was made by the government of Pakistan till four to five hours after the attack on Trump, which would have been a model of good reputation among major countries. It is felt that when our leaders go to sleep at night, they do not have any system to wake them up and tell them what is happening in the world and what should be the message from Pakistan.
We must keep an eye on these motives of foreign policy and develop relations with other countries of the world, including the United States, we should be aware of the changing color of the world moment by moment and we should react immediately, seeing the benefits and harms of their sensitivities. Show up so that our goodwill starts improving now. We are too late in many matters and that is the reason why we are facing difficulties to get out of this cycle of degradation.
May God Almighty grant us the wisdom and understanding that we can deal with our external and internal affairs in a good way. (Amen)
