Trinette Lucas highlights the pain of being called ‘Jamadar’ because of her skin color

Model Trinette Lucas recently took to Instagram to speak out about a painful experience that has been a part of her life for many years. She revealed that she has often been called “jamadar” (cleaner) due to the color of her skin, as reported by international media. 

Reflecting on a recent comment she saw on her social media using the same derogatory term, Lucas shared how she initially laughed it off, but later realized the deep-rooted sadness behind such language.

She emphasized that words like “jamadar” and “maasi” (maid) are often used as insults, even though these are honest, hard-working professions that provide people with a means of living.

Despite the challenges she has faced, Lucas expressed that she is proud of the impact she has made by carving out her place in the fashion world.
