The Karachi Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic management plan for the central 9th Muharram procession scheduled for Thursday, June 25, and released details of alternative traffic arrangements to facilitate commuters across the city.
According to the traffic police, special traffic measures have been put in place under the directives of SSP Traffic Central District, Dr. Qamar Rizvi, to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during the procession.
The central procession will commence at 7:00 am from Bab-e-Fatima Imambargah and will proceed through its designated route, including 10 Number Chowrangi, Riaz College, Firdous Market, Dak Khana Bridge, and Teen Hatti, before concluding at Shah-e-Najaf Imambargah.
Traffic Diversions
The following roads will remain closed to traffic during the procession:
- Traffic from Liaquatabad No. 10 towards Dak Khana Chowrangi will remain suspended.
- Traffic from Chowrangi No. 1 towards Dak Khana will be closed.
- Traffic from Filmistan Cinema towards Teen Hatti will not be allowed.
- Traffic from Banaras Signal towards Guru Mandir will remain closed.
SSP Traffic Central District Dr. Qamar Rizvi has directed concerned officers to ensure effective traffic monitoring throughout the procession and deploy additional personnel to guide commuters and maintain traffic flow.
The public has been advised to use alternative routes and contact the Traffic Police Helpline at 1915 for guidance and real-time traffic updates to avoid inconvenience.
