ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approached the central bank for seeking details of bank accounts of Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.
According to reports gathered by the MM News, the Election Commission has sought details of the bank accounts of Ex-Premier Imran Khan from the State Bank on suspicions that he didn’t disclose the gifts taken from the Tosha Khana in his financial statements.
Sources privy to the ECP affairs claimed that a letter has already been written to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), seeking to provide details of Imran Khan’s bank accounts.
It is believed that after getting these details, the Election Commission will examine account details after which it might issue verdict on Imran Khan’s Toshakhana case.
The ECP, it may be recalled here, had reserved judgment on Toshakhana case against Imran Khan on Sept 19, 2022. Imran Khan’s lawyer Ali Zafar had already apprised the ECP that his client had sold at least four presents he had received during 2018-19, for some Rs 58 million and the same were reflected in his income tax returns.
