Peshawar has been hit by severe flooding following torrential rains, with multiple areas submerged and residents forced to evacuate. On Warsak Road, floodwaters entered a housing society, prompting rescue teams to evacuate people using boats.
Heavy rainfall also caused water to seep into houses along Nasir Bagh Road and surrounding localities. Meanwhile, drains overflowed in several parts of the city, including Saddar, GT Road, and Gulbahar.
The downpour disrupted electricity supply after several feeders tripped, plunging many neighborhoods into darkness. In tragic incidents, a child lost her life when the roof of a mud house collapsed, while another person was injured after the wall of a house gave way.
The Budhni Nullah swelled dangerously at Darmangi and Pir Bala, raising fears of flooding in low-lying areas, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
Elsewhere, in Malakand, heavy rains caused flash floods in streams across Batkhela city and adjoining areas. A car was trapped in a swollen water channel, leaving two people injured. Authorities also shut down the Swat Expressway due to the risk of landslides.
